Karen J. Campo, of Medina, Ohio, passed away on February 26, 2019 at the age of 57. A devoted member of Ohio Music Teachers Association, Karen was an accomplished pianist and passed her love and dedication of music to hundreds of students over the course of 34 years. Karen served as OhioMTA Vice President-State Conferences from 2016-2018, and as Vice President-Affiliated Districts from October 2018 until her death in February 2019. To honor her, OhioMTA commissioned composer Jeanine Yeager to create a set of piano pieces in Karen’s memory. The premiere of “Personal Reflections” was planned to take place during the 2020 State Conference. Though the State Conference was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, we are heartened to nevertheless present the students’ video performances of the pieces on this webpage. With fond memories of Karen, we hope you enjoy the music.
